Inspired to bring authentic Portuguese cuisine to New York City, founder Joey Batista presents a selection of desserts and hot beverages to his grab-and-go café. Every item on the menu is Portuguese, most notably the signature dish, the pastéis de nata –a warm crème brûlée wrapped in a flaky croissant – which dates back to Lisbon in the early 1800s. The dish earned Batista the distinction of best sweet at the 2018 edition of The World Fare, an outdoor market in Queens with more than 100 food vendors that celebrates the diversity of New York City cuisine.
