Building Amenities

Studio Gather: A full service conference center located on the 27th floor of 45 Rockefeller Plaza offers a range of beautifully appointed spaces able to accommodate groups up to 280 people.

Lobby

The 3-story lobby is a designated landmark by both the City of New York and the Federal Government.  Veined green tinos marble walls with nickel bronze moldings and trim.  The floor is of dark red and green terrazzo panel with nickel bronze strips.

The high ceiling is dramatically finished in copper leaf.

Artwork

Atlas:  Lee Lawrie’s statue was cast in bronze and weighs 14,000 pounds.  This 15 foot figure rests on a 9-foot pedestal and is more than twice life size.  Each outstretched arm measures six feet from shoulder to fingertip.  Mr. Lawrie’s Atlas bears a huge armillary sphere with the 12 signs of the zodiac.  Its axis points to the North Star.

Lobby:  The metallic sculptures located throughout the north and south entrance of the building were created and installed by Michio Ihara.  The ten sculptures, considered a single work of art, are approximately 35 feet by 7 feet by 2 feet.  Attached to vertical supporting stainless steel cables are nearly 1,600 individually balanced stainless steel leaves with gold patina, the embodiment of reflected light and movement. The sculptor’s imaginative yet highly disciplined work was specifically designed for viewing from different angles.

Renovations

Lobby upgrade completed in 2021.
